The Pebmarsh Pilgrims

Cllr Perry Crimmins and our band of merry men, known as the Pebmarsh Pilgrims, are doing a walk to raise funds to protect and preserve the beautiful St, John the Baptist Church in Pebmarsh, Essex. The church is under serious threat of closure, due to the high costs of maintaining such an iconic village building, as mentioned in the Doomsday book, therefore, in a bid to raise much need funds, Perry and Co will be taking on part of the infamous Camino Frances, ‘Way of St James’ walk, which has been a route for pilgrims since the 9th century that ends at the Cathedral of Santiago in Galicia, Spain.
